All for a little love, and a lot of coffee. "The room" is a suspicious title, because there are two, or rather, two in one, or perhaps one in two, each of one inhabited by a man and a woman. They are geographically distant, but simultaneous in the time. Him and Her, live in different cities, each in their own room. But they know each other, in some way. He observes her in his computer, and she has a camcorder installed in her bedroom. He believes -more than her- that this thin relation is enough to be the happiest couple in the world, separated from the real world, and overall, from the rows in the supermarkets. A love story for century XXI: antiseptic, voyeuristic, and handled by machines that disguise the extreme urban solitude. Persons who risk their "real" life, just for not lose their virtual Eden. |
